One of the greatest joys of parenthood is watching your kids grow up, learn, and eventually get smarter than you are. In Landon's case, that happened when he was, say, 8 years old. Bright, ambitious, driven, focused. Those are all words that describe Landon, our most recent (and final) college grad!
Landon graduated from the University of Utah with a BS in Mechanical Engineering last week. He graduated Magna Cum Laude as a result of his 3.958 GPA.
The orange cord over his shoulders means he qualified for Dean's Honors at graduation. Yep. He's a pretty smart kid!
He's published and presented research from his work in the Haptics and Embedded Mechatronics Lab, and has filed for or received nine US and three Chinese patents as a result of his summer internship design work at Orbit.
In spite of his academic success, Landon remains committed to family, devoted to the Gospel, and dedicated to his church calling. He's a gentle, kind, witty character who keeps us laughing with his antics.
Landon has great memories from the "U" to take with him as he heads off the Houston for a summer internship with BP. Then, in the fall, he's been accepted at Stanford University in Palo Alto to continue with graduate studies in the Mechanical Engineering Department.
Congratulations, Landon! You have graduated with honors, but the true honor is mine. I am proud to be your mom and I can't wait to see what the future brings!
