I confess. It's true. We did organize our Christmas activities via a Google Doc spreadsheet. Now some would say that was a bit unnecessary, but when you've got four kids living in different places, traveling during the holidays and dividing their time between their families, it takes a bit of coordination to pull off the holiday activities we had planned. Here's what we did:
- Went to the Tabernacle Choir Concert
- Watched Ty & Amy's Primary Sacrament Meeting Program
- Had Roo, Annie and Esme over for a French Dip Family Home Evening
- Went on a Sibling Date Night
- Tended the boys while Jim and Kathie had an overnight getaway in Park City. Griffin woke up at 5:30, so Grandpa and Griffin had a snuggly nap together that morning.
- Had an adult Dress Up Dinner at Grand America (Lily got to go too!)
- Took the "girls" to see Nutcracker
- Had a Santa Visit at home
- Went Christmas Caroling at the Cemetery on Papa's Birthday--It was a sweet way to remember how much he loved all the kids performing on his birthday. Hearing all the kids sing Silent Night in harmony was so touching. "Sleep in Heavenly Peace" took on a special meaning.
- Boys Movie and Girls Lunch, Pedicures
- Christmas Book (Also an annual tradition to read a new book together and add it to each of our Christmas Libraries)
- Talent Show--of which the highlight was Scott and I performing Jingle Bells by beating each other with tone tubes.
- Family Slide Show--2011 in Review prepared by Kathie
- Tyler and Amy's Christmas Choir Performance at their ward, followed by Scott's Christmas Choir Performance in our ward!
- The New Museum of Natural History
- Ice Skating with the Gwilliam's at the Olympic Oval
- Family Temple Sealing Night
- Tubing and Lunch at Soldier Hollow with Hutchings
