We had an unexpected treat to have Kathie and Griffin fly out for a couple of days this weekend. Kathie came out to attend her good friend's wedding, and so consequently, we got to keep Griffin and spend a lot of time cuddling and playing with him.
While Kathie was at the wedding reception tonight, Griffin wasn't too excited about drinking from a bottle. He was having nothing of this poor substitute for the real thing. So we gave up that fight, and just decided to hold him off until his mommy could get home with the right stuff. Landon was visiting this evening, and offered to hold Griff while we ate a quick dinner, and pretty soon, Griffin was all snuggled up, laid his head on Landon's shoulder for the longest time, and after a while, he drifted off to sleep.

We wondered how Landon, relatively inexperienced with babies, could have such a calming effect on Griffin. Then, it dawned on us. As soon as Landon picked up the remote control, turned on the Jazz game, and started texting on his Droid, Griffin thought it was his
DADDY holding him!

Except that I rarely can watch a Jazz game and I don't even know what this "texting" thing you speak of is.
