Last Prom. Ever.

Lauren's last prom was Saturday night, and she was so happy that she was asked by Mitch to her own prom. What a great guy to take a step back from college life to escort her to the final dance of her high school career. She confirmed that "there is no one else I would rather go with." And didn't they make a cute couple?
The thing Lauren will remember most about this event was that it followed a huge track meet for her--the Taylorsville Invitational, which the coaches and students at THS run. Therefore, the coach did not allow any of the athletes to leave the all day meet until the final events were over, the equipment had been put away, and everything was cleaned up. During the afternoon, Lauren snuck into the school and cleaned up a little, put hot rollers in her hair, started her make up, etc. She had already taken care of all the equipment she could at the meet. So, when the coach finally released them at 5:15, she had 15 minutes to get home, clean up, finish her hair and makeup and get dressed for her date.
Needless to say, that was just a bit stressful. Fortunately, Lauren isn't the high maintenance type of girl when it comes to primping and dressing. She cleaned up, pulled her curlers out, touched up her make up, spritzed on some perfume, stepped into her dress, strapped her shoes on, and appeared in her transformed state just 20 minutes after arriving home from track. Not many girls can say they got ready for prom in 20 minutes, but Lauren did great!
After a nice dinner at the Roof, and the dance at Rice Eccles, she reported that it was the most fun she'd ever had at a dance. Lauren was sunburned and sore from the days events, so when Mitch returned her home nice and early, I'll bet she fell asleep within 30 seconds!
