We just had a great weekend in Baltimore, and we were able to spend some time with Jim and Kathie--which was such a treat for us. Friday night after we arrived, we went to their apartment (fixed up sooooo cute, by the way), and then went to dinner downtown in the Inner Harbor area. Saturday, Kathie was our sightseeing companion as we headed north about 70 miles to visit Gettysburg, VA. In spite of the season, it was a beautiful drive, and it was easy to picture the battles taking place in the rollings hills the way that history depicts them. After an audio tour in our car to many significant battle sites, we had a quick lunch, then drove back towards Baltimore and stopped at a mall. Scott found an uncomfortable bench to nap and people watch on while Kathie and I looked for new clothes. (Note to self: Next time, bring a weapon to more effectively influence Kathie into letting someone buy her something....) Anyway, I had fun going shopping with Kathie, and I think she is soooo lucky to have the perfect figure--everything she tries on fit perfectly! That night, we had dinner and a movie with the kids. Sunday, we enjoyed attending the Inner Harbor ward, followed by a lovely dinner prepared by Kathie. Monday, the kids were back to work and school, so Scott and I explored a little bit in preparation for our June trip when we go to Baltimore again with all of the kids. We went to the DC temple, and drove into Union Station, where we explored transportion and had a nice lunch. We sure enjoyed the few days we had with the kids--Thanks Jim and Kathie, for letting us come!
