You may have wondered what happened to this man, Larry Bird, after he retired from the NBA. We've kept close tabs on him, and thought you should know that Larry Bird has been serving missions around the world with members of our family and some of our friends. He spends a few months with a missionary, then he is "released" and returned home for his next assignment.
Elder Bird has seen the world, and a history of his missionary service has been kept so that each companion knows where he has been.
It's been a few years since Elder Bird has been able to serve, and we are excited to ship him out tomorrow to serve for a time with our nephew, Elder Brady Berryessa, in the Ohio, Cleveland mission.
Ironically, Brady's nick name is.....wait for it..... "Bird."
We wish Elder Bird great success as he serves with Elder Berryessa.
