Birthday and Boxing in Baltimore

Scott and I made a November trip back to Baltimore to celebrate Kathie's birthday, and to help Jim and Kathie get a start on packing up their apartment. We managed to fill several boxes, including all of the wall decor, pictures and photographs, breakable treasures and even some kitchen items. Of course, we can't go back to Baltimore without a bit of fun thrown in for good measure....so..... we made a visit to the Baltimore Zoo. Gavin immediately found the merry-go-round, and was happy to go for a quick ride.

Griffin was a little less sure, but warmed up to the idea as the ride progressed.

The Baltimore Zoo was great--not too large, but with some really great up close and personal exhibits, like this polar bear, which was only a few feet away from us.

The Zebra and Rhino was fabulous too.

And of course, this little lion family was absolutely adorable.

No trip to the zoo would be complete without a ride on the train, which Gavin is obsessed with right now.

Besides the trip to the zoo, Gavin learned to play several new games on grandma's Kindle Fire tablet.

We celebrated Kathie's birthday with an ice cream cake from Maggie Moo's.

Griffin's hair forms these beautiful, perfect curls in the back, and we wanted to capture the curls in a photo before his daddy makes us cut them off.

Gavin, still completely focused when it comes to building towers with blocks...

Griffin, happy, snuggly and cuddly as ever!

Since this was Grandpa's second trip to Baltimore in just a few weeks, Griffin has really been attached to him, and could often be found on grandpa's lap, reading books, or playing with Grandpa's pens.

Thanks to Jim, Kathie and the boys for making our "working vacation" a lot of fun too!
