The nest is getting a little closer to being empty, as Lauren and I made a visit to Logan and signed her up for her new little apartment. She'll be living right off of campus, and doesn't feel at all disappointed to miss the "freshman dorm" experience. Lauren will be staying at the Brentwood apartments, sharing an apartment with three other girls. She excitedly posed in front of her new "home!"

In other Lauren news, she saw the surgeon again today, who did not pronounce her "cured" as she had hoped; however, he is impressed with how strong her legs have become and how dedicated she has been in working out and doing her physical therapy. She wanted to be totally released to start sprinting and jumping...but the doc says she needs to add a little bit to her routine every day to see how it goes. He wants her back in 6 to 8 weeks--let's see....that will be right AFTER the State Championships! She was totally bummed, but is determined to keep working hard. In the good news column, Lauren got a couple more really great scholarships this week, was selected to attend the Senior Banquet as one of the top 50 seniors, got invited to Prom, and bought a gorgeous dress (sorry--picture can't be posted or her date will peek!). And, Lauren and her mom get to fly to Baltimore this weekend to check up on little Baby Gavin!
