A week of waiting and anticipation was a tough one for Lauren, after trying out for madrigals. She sang "I Could Have Danced All Night" for her audition piece. All week long, she hoped that she would get a knock on our door in the middle of the night (a Madrigal initiation tradition) to tell her that she had made it! Finally, a week after tryouts, three Madrigals came knocking at 4:30 a.m. They woke her up, shooting horns and silly string, and shouted for her to wake up because she was a mad! They made her stay in her pajamas, pulled her pillowcase over her head and she wasn't allowed to speak, as all of the new madrigals were awakened and gathered together for breakfast. She also had to wear a sign all day that said "Vitelli," which means "Calves" in Italian (in honor of her legs). The best part of the morning was finding both of her cousins there (Hailey and Danielle had tried out too) when the pillowcases were all removed. The girls will have a great senior year in mads!
