Girl's Getaway

This year's "Girl's Getaway" was in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We rented a 3 bedroom Casita which allowed us to visit and laugh (we excel in this), watch movies, do pedicures and craft projects, and prepare breakfast each day. While in Santa Fe, we toured the plaza, shopped, and visited the Santa Fe Art Museums, as well as the Loretta Chapel. We took a tour through the city and visted several art galleries. We also hiked through Bandelier Park to see the Anasazi Ruins there, and toured the Bradford Museum in Los Alamos. I doubled my money ($1.00 to $2.20) at the Camel Rock Casino playing poker on the Penny Slots. We also attended a cooking class at the Santa Fe School of Cooking, and learned how to make corn tortillas, green chili sauce, red chili sauce, posole, pinto beans, enchiladas, and a wonderful Mexican bread pudding dessert. We flew in and out of Albuquerque, and while there, visited the temple, went to Old Town, and took a tram ride to the top of Sandia Peak for lunch. To do all this in 4 days, one might wonder when we slept? Well....we didn't! The down side of this year's trip was that Debbie couldn't go this year, and we missed her terribly! But, she came through for us at the end of our trip....when we came down the escalators at SLC airport, Debbie was waiting at the bottom with a poster that read: "You did it! Congratulations! You made it through your Mental Health Drug & Alcohol Addicts Program!" Boy, did we get the looks and the laughs!!!! Thanks "Hotties" for a great, relaxing trip!
