Jump! The Simplot Games

This past weekend, Lauren traveled to ISU in Pocatello to compete at the Simplot Games, an annual track and field event for high school students from across the country. 1900 athletes from 22 states and 2 Canadian provinces participated. Lauren had a great time, and competed in the 60 Meter Hurdles, as well as High Jump. She did not make it into the finals for hurdles, but she did make the finals for high jump. The group started with about 45 competitors. Half of them made it to the final round, and Lauren jumped 5'4" and took 3rd place overall. Her coach was very excited to have an athlete from Taylorsville go home with a medal, and, as you can tell by the attached photos, Lauren was pleased as well. Her new theme song? "Jump!" by Van Halen.
